Overall I like this book. However, I have one major disappointment. In Chapter 9, the chapter on Calculate, the author makes this statement, "If you want to be an expert (on Calculate), you need to read lots of other books and blogs". Really? The Calculate function is probably the most important function to learn in DAX and the author is basically saying he decided not to spend the time really digging into this function and that I should read other material to really become an expert. Makes me a bit ticked off I gave him my hard-earned money so he can tell me to read other books and blogs to become really good.

Very well written. Matt makes a difficult subject very understandable. I wish I could give it more stars.If you are just getting started with Power BI this book is what you need.

I have purchased a couple of his books and they are excellent, easy to follow, and detailed. Further, Matt follows up via email (if you opt in!), and provides ongoing tips and tricks. As I've progressed in my Power BI journey I have found his materials to be very helpful. I highly recommend!

Very comfortable read while also being very informative at a detailed level. This is a balance that most programming books don't achieve.

Matt does a phenomenal job of breaking these concepts down into easily digestible chunks.Out of all the PowerBI resources around - this is the best place to start for learning DAX.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book.
