I'm using this text for a class on Instructional Design. Reading this has been one of my favorite parts of the class. The cases are very engaging and challenging, and each case seems to highlight a different issue that Instructional Designers will face. There are approximately 30 cases in the book, and none of them show the 'solution,' which makes this extra effective as tool for discussion. I don't know, however, how engaging this text may be for someone reading it on its own, it's not really set up to read case after case after case, but better as the sort of book where you read one case, reflex for a while, and return to read the next case. As such, the book isn't linear, you can jump around at will and gain just as much from it.

The rented book was not in great condition even for a paperback. I will be anxious to see if amazon assesses any additional charges for the normal use. The book has good case studies for instructional design and thought provoking questions to consider instructional design challenges.
