About the Author

Lloyd Evans is an ex-Jehovah's Witness writer, activist and filmmaker. In 2011, he founded JWsurvey.org - an online resource aimed at assisting those who wish to leave the Witness faith. Why a book on How to escape from Jehovah's witnesses? Because, whether witnesses know it or not, they are in a prison. A prison in many ways. In a literal prison everything that a prisoner does is CONTROLLED. But the prisoners know it. Inside the 'witness prison' the "control" is unnoticed or if it is it is ACCEPTED. What control? Behavior, Information, Thought and Emotion. AKA the 'Bite' model. This model will identify very quickly any CULT or unusual control by an organization esp. a religious one. Start a prison riot. Enjoy your prison break. Freedom lies outside of the JW walls where life was meant to be.

Once again another little gem from Lloyd Evans, this time on preparing and leaving the Watchtower organization. He gives practical steps and suggestions in a clear and understandable way, since leaving such a controlling religion is never as easy as just deciding to walk out when one choses to. The consequences are serious both practically and emotionally. The cultist manner of this religion is evident when one sees the clear evidence of the mind control over so many people who are dissuaded to even use their common sense or investigate their beliefs in a rational way. Thankfully this book was written with them in mind and uniquely suited to aid them in their quest for true freedom. Well done and highly recommended.

I enjoyed reading the book, so true and accurate but so sad that a book needs to be written on how to escape the JW's. Makes a lot of sense for former JW's and is full of practical advise.

A book like this should not even be needed. But if you are or are trying to exit being one of Jehovah's Witnesses, it is needed. You have the freedom to join or be baptized but unfortunately leaving is not so easy. When you find out the deceptions in their teachings and their flip flopping of doctrine and the end times and want to leave, You will be demonized. You will be labeled spiritually sick or eating from the table of demons. You will be shunned by all your JW friends and family in the majority of cases. There may be a few who see the cruelty in shunning but they are the exceptions. Thank-you Lloyd Evans for writing this book and helping ones escape this nightmare religion. Just the title of the book tells you its a cult as escaping should not be necessary.
