First, I’ve read many self-improvement books and most just get thrown on a shelf whether or not I can forge through the monotony and finish them.Man Up was a great read that I’m already excited to read again (highly unusual for me).In full disclosure, I know Scott. He knows me well enough to know that I wouldn’t write this review if I didn’t believe my words and I know him well enought that he wouldn’t ask or want me to do such a thing either.We all want to be better husbands, dads, businessmen, and friends. Some books go too deep and others don’t even scratch the surface; it’s a Goldilocks issue. This book, however, is just right. I can hear Scott talking to me, it’s easy and fun to read, but doesn’t ask me to read and analyze Nietzsche. I also appreciate that almost every paragraph has a useable and employable take-away. There are so many books out there that have one point from which to learn, so Man Up blows those out of the water.If you want to be a better man, a better husband, and a better father (as we all should), you need to read this book.Scott, thank you for writing Man Up. I’m already a better man for it.

The Book Man Up struck a nerve and came out at the right time in my life. Scott hit the nail on the head that we need to stand up and do the right things all the time in our lives. The book very simply covers how we can affect positive change in our lives and others around us, by just moving toward that goal one step at a time. All men that are trained to accept the mediocrity of life working 9-5 need to rediscover ourselves and live life the fullest. Being a God fearing man I honestly believe God will not put any obstacle in my path that he feels I can not conquer. I just have to get up off the couch and try every day to be my best. I plan on re-reading this book again and again and extract all the information out of it that I can use to empower my life to be the best Man I can achieve for my Family. Thank you Scott for waking me back up. I will use this book to gain the momentum Deenna and I need to further our Young Living business and utilize it to just be the best man I can be.

I'd heard excerpts of the book ahead of time, and was looking forward to getting my hands on it. I'm not a guy, but I have plenty of guys in my life. This is a great read whether you are a man or a woman. I think this is a wonderful, insightful book to help young men as they grow up to be husbands and fathers, and a great book for Dads and Moms that are currently raising young kids, boys or girls. There is too much TV/media that portrays home life is such an awful way, and may people don't know otherwise. This book provides direction and guidance from someone who's been there (is there!).I loved the stories about his own kids, made me laugh!!

This is a no blowing smoke, no fairy dust, no fluff, in your face, get off the porch kind of book that really speaks to me. Frankly this is the kind of writing we need more of that will be direct but respectful This book has given life lesson reminders and a guide for improvement's I can make to be a better man in ways like being a present husband to my awesome wife. Learning how to be a part of her life and business without trying to control it. It gives great advice on growing spiritually and being humble, but being strong in convictions. It shows that being a man is crying, it is comforting those in need as well as being the defender of the home and fighting for family and friends. So, if you are in need of inspiration, a kick in the pants, or something that is real life, then this is a must have book. It is one that can be taken off the shelf anytime you need a boost, find direction, or just need a slap to get back o track.

I will start by saying that I consider Scott my friend. As I read MANUP I could hear Scott’s voice. A voice of conviction and certainty. I felt as if he was talking directly to me, speaking as if having a conversation with an old friend. Read this book with an open mind and heart. Read this book as if your life as a man depended on it. I guarantee it will speak to you. Each chapter will remind you of the areas that you as a man need to become more proficient. Going to work and simply providing for our families is not enough. In fact it is why most men are stuck! We, as men, need to take responsibility for our lives. Scott reminds us that by becoming more aware and consciously deciding to be a man is a very good thing. It reminds me of the quote. “We make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give”. Scott, Thank You for taking your time to write this book. At this time in my life it exactly what I need to hear. I thought it would be an enjoyable quick read. But instead, it has turned into an in-depth study of my life, my attitude, my future goals my family life. We travel a lot and was glad to see the Audible version my wife is interested in why I have spent so much time with this book. She is excited to learn what has captured my attention.
